My turn - no start - help please
Okay, car is a b14 w/ det swap in a few years ago, never a problem... until now. Won't start. No work was done on the car within 4 months.

Symptoms:

- Temp gauge reading hot in traffic last time it ran (no fans?)
- Fans start during cranking.
- Blue relay under dash buzzes, replacement (stolen from the fog lights) does the same.
- Fuel pump primes great, good pressure on my gauge.
- Battery strong, cranks like a champ.
- No spark.
- Tried to pull ECU codes today, *no* light on the ECU.

The fans issue had me thinking electrical problem, the no ecu light can't be good.

I tapped into the ecu harness about 10 months ago for an EBC, has ran for quite a while with no issues, but I redid all those connections just in case. No help.

What should I check next? The ECU grounds to the intake manifold, correct? What pin(s) should I check for voltage on the ECU?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like your ECU is shot, but make sure to check the connection between your harness and the ECU.

something went wrong in the ecu and dont just throw another one in, make sure all your connections for your power to ecu are recieving power and the the ones that arnt supposed to have power dont. in other words pin each one to check for volatage and make sure all are correct before throwing another one in or the same will happen and you will be wasting your time.

Well, I'm only getting about 6 volts to the power supply lines on the ECU. Shouldn't it be battery voltage there? I'm still entertaining the possibility of a bad ground due to this. Where does the ECU ground to, besides the two terminals that bolt to the intake manifold?

I also popped the top off the JWT ECU and looks like there is no LED in there at all. Weird?

Someone give me guess. Why would I get low voltage to the ECU?

bad ground signal from chassis or relay?

Do the fans start when you put the key in the accesory position or only when you crank it? I had a similar thing and it was in fact a busted ECU.

I'm having the exact same problem (low voltage to the ECU ~7 volts) when the key is in the ON position. The car cranks like a champ, relay keeps chattering, and the car just will not start ??!!! Was this problem resolved?
