Thread: sr20det Piston issue

Hey guys i have a s14 black top sr20det engine, now i broke a ring landing on piston number four and would like to know if a red top aka straight top sr20det piston will work in the black top sr20det, the piston in the straight top is marked 79e on top of the piston.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

most det's came with the 79e pistons. the gtir and most of the late model det's used 54c pistons.

all sr20det pistons were 8:5:1. Your compression will be the same.
