It's easy as hell. Take all the money your about to spend and time your about to waste not driving your car because it's going to take for ever and go buy a 240sx with a SR20 swap in it. Or go make a car payment on a EVO 9 or 10. Easy deal.

jaja i spend on mines $1500

unless your time is cheap it cost more than $1500. If your time is cheap then well you didn't waste it.

You made a blanket statement when I said for him to just go buy a rwd car or a awd car. I said this because taking up a project like that is in no way cheap. Then you prattled on about it only costing you $1500? you failed to add the time it took do the job. Not everyone has access to the tools or the know how and parts to do something like that. You should make it easier for him buy doing the whole thing for him @ the $1500 lol.

Parts + Labor, the Labor is time. If you have kids or a 60 hour work week your time is worth way more than if you only worked 30-40 hours. I'm sure that I could pull off the AWD swap but I prob wouldn't for a few reasons. 1. The car is old as shit now lol. I'd rather just spend the money and buy a nicer car like a EVO 9 or STi that already came AWD from the factory.
2. The time involved would just be too much to get it done right. Stock AWD cars ok at stock power levels but when you start to make more power and want to go faster you start to break shit. If there isn't anything for you to upgrade too then your going to spend more time and money to get something that will hold the power so you can drive it like you stole it.

Already had a turbo awd car back in the day. Very fun can and I still miss it sometimes.

The Jackassery that went on with that car when I was younger were too numerous to list lol.

Nobody with any sense counts the "time" they have in their unique, built not bought, ride.

That time is entertainment time. Hobby time. Fun time. Challenge time.

It cannot be quantified, nor priced.

When doing a custom ride for yourself, yes, the only thing that counts is the actual parts you bought.

Not the time spent by your and your buddies making the thing work. Do you count the two hours spent in the price of going to a movie? Or does going to the movies cost the ticket, popcorn, and a drink? It costs the ticket, popcorn and drink, not an additional 25-per hour for the money "you could have made" while at work.

Counting "labor" in a fun project-car is a ridiculous argument for not doing the project car.

The cost of the materials are thee only thing that counts, or find yourself another hobby.
