hesitations at high rpm
Is it normal to experience lag or small hesitations at high rpm? Or common issues? How to fix?

depends on your setup, and what exactly you mean by 'hesitation'.

It could just be that you're past power peak. On stock or near stock SR20 motors you don't really need to rev to 7500, and after 6400rpm you can feel the power tapering off.

it could seriously be anything man.. start with a basic tune up, spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor, maybe clean the maf with MAF CLEANER, if problem still persists try changing air and fuel filters.. i dont think an oil change would help this issue, but i always recommend them anyways.

if after all that the problem is still there, you might check in to the fuel pump itself. after that shit starts getting spendy so if you dont feel confident in continuing then take it to someone else..

first question i always want to ask people is what AFR they are seeing @ the problem, however not everyone has a wideband so that goes out the window.. they are so handy for problem solving its not even funny, i think everyone should have one.

no turbo, wide open throttle, 13.0 or so, 12.5-13.5 should be ok though, any richer or leaner an you can start having issues of some sort.

replace fuel filter. check for error codes (ie knock sensor).failing this, replace camshaft's with jwt s4's.that should fix it.
