the other day something broke to do with my clutch and i brought it in to see what was wrong.. they told me i needed a clutch kit ($320) and all together they wanted $850 i only spent $800 on my car in the first place so i was almost ready to just say screw it and get rid of my car.. but then i realized i couldnt live with out my nx lol so i fixed it.... haha wish mine didnt need so much work though. i spend to much just keeping the thing going... :nightmare:

when my first se-r belonged to my ex she paid 600 to have the clutch done, i thought that was out fucking rageous.. not to mentioned they tryed to bone us on a clutch cable.. i had a oem one (came with the car) ready to go in, told him to send it home and i'd do it myself.. from then forward i was a hands on do-it my self guy.. i've learned soo much the past 6 years.

This is why most of us do the work ourselves. If I had to pay someone for everything I've fixed/upgraded I'd could have bought a nice used Porsche.

yeah well im a hands on kinda guy too but this is my only car and i need it to get to work.. otherwise i would play around with it and do it myself too.. i have done stuff with 94 1.6 litre sentra like swap motor and trans but i doubt i could do it really quick it would take me a weekend or longer.. altho i get alot of help through the fourm.. and thx. i agree i usually dont get other people to work on my car.. i usually do it myself but i thought this was a bigger job and needed to get it done as fast as possible.. and get back to work.. maybe it would have just been better to take a few days off and do it myself but either way i would be in the same place.. spending the extra money or not making the money.. and this is near winnipeg manitoba canada so its canadian dollar also.

I hear ya.

Over the years, I've learned that if you're going to run a POS as your daily, it's best to get two of them. Having two cars spares me the loss of work factor. My other car is a $2000 Neon I bought 12 years ago. Both cost next to nothing to insure. I'm way ahead of the game in term of dollars when you factor in the lack of a large car payment every month.
