Strange problem (another SR20 issue from yours truly, Storm8800)
Hey guys.

Last night I was driving the VVL (B13 VE swap, bolt-ons) and I guess one of the spark plug wires was loose and became disconnected at the distributor, the car ran as you'd expect, choppy as hell. Freaked out and thought it was something more serious. I was pulling into the parking lot, it was snowing and dark out so I shut it down and went to bed.

Edit: vaccum leak. you guys were right. again.

Check your idle valve fuse.

Thanks. I am also going to disconnect battery cables too just in case, in my experience w/ my friend's Hondas, when a plug wire comes off it can kill the coil.

mine was doing this a one time it turned to be the IACV, not sure why but what i did was disconnect the valve and you should hear the difference right if the valve is working. if you dont hear any difference at all then something is up with the valve, reconnect it and see if plunger that it has moves.

its a solenoid so u might need to tap it to loosen it up.

i think if it was your coil it would hesitate constantly and not only during idle.

That's a good point. I think it actually does hesitate a little but when you give it light throttle, or barely touch the pedal.. going out to mess with it now.

I checked the electronics B fuse or whatever, it was all good. I checked all the other fuses too, nothing wrong.

Just changed the spark plugs and still the same thing. it starts right up, idles OK for about 4-6 seconds, then drops down and dies. Unless I give it gas.

Going to get a new spark plug wire set and see if that does anything tomorrow.
