Thread: Humming sound after shutting off?

After I park and turn off the engine and remove the key, I intermittently hear a humming sound for up to a minute. The first few times I thought it was something outside, but it is definitely coming from the back seat of my NX. The only thing I can think of is the fuel pump. Perhapse it's just the fuel return bleeding off pressure into the tank?

Has anyone else experienced this? The car runs perfectly.

Fuel pump if humming with key in ignition prior to start?

I've definitely experienced the same exact thing multiple times. Like you said it sounds like it's coming from the fuel tank area. It's gotta be the fuel pump or something else depressurizing.

I get the same thing. I made a post a while back. I think the conclusion as others have said was the fuel pump pressure.

Will my car does the same thing, car runs fine so I havent questioned it.(just thought it was pump related)lol. now i know I'm mot the only one.

From my experience owning 2 B14's and 6 B13's, they all hum at different volumes. Some are REALLY loud, some are very quiet.

I want to add that I have a Walbro fuel pump.
