I need a set of relatively cheap track tires(205/50-15) for the convention, and they will be used for autocrosses as well. Probably never see any street use...except maybe driving to an autocross locally.
Any input?
My azenis lasted for one autocross season and Daily duty. They are are great tire, little loud on the road when crusing tho. I wanted to get the BFG's but I could not wait for them to come out so I got the Z2's. These tires are WAY better than the falkens, I love them and they hook real good. Only downside was I had to use tire rack to get them so I had to eat the shipping charges. 580$ shipped for the dunlop vs around $500 for the BFG's. Id wait for the BFG's, tire rack has a ship dated listed the end of Feb last time I checked. Check your local tire store and see if they can order you a set.

I've been driving my Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 for over a year with great results it has grip, excellent stopping and they do last for a UTQG Rating: 180 AA these are predictable when wet and do a real good job all the time.
I am waiting for the new Bridgestone Potenza RE-11A to be available to give them a try if not available I will then use these new G-force rival but honestly I think the Potenza will be still the best deal for street usage (grip and durability).

I'm torn between these two tires. The RE-11 is tried and true. The Rival doesn't have a ton of data yet, although the feedback is really good so far. My guess is, if it's as good as people are anticipating, the price is going to go up and/or availability will suck in the coming months. I have to bust a move soon. The Kuhmo baldini's I'm sporting now are about to give up the ghost any day. :ghost:

And I was just going to post, "Did anyone get these?"
Good stuff, Hank. Saw the P10 today, a huge branch almost destroyed the 'ol gal, took some more scratches but it was a gross exterior anyway. A foot closer and I would not have to worry about the P10, it would have been crushed and on to junkyard heaven.
Now I need to wear out my newish Yako's and to justify getting these.

I wasn't aware these were strictly for track use. I just assumed "summer" was or warmer weather. So in that case if they are only seeing track time then I would agree. But daily, simi daily or weekend cruises. I would completely avoid them.
They are not strictly track use, they are for street use too actually. Thing is, there is no wear standard shore rating wise. One companies 200 rating will be another companies 300. Usually treadware rating is only useful for comparing the same companies tires.
