Thread: Which FWD SR20DE is the best?

So i've been thinking for quite some time now, I know off the sr20de but im not deeply familiar with it, and have been wondering which one would be the best too chose from, for example a B13/B14 SR20, G20 SR20 and so on, i have a 240sx and a B13, im keeping my KA24DE for my 240sx but i have been thinking of swapping out the GA16DE because of its miles (232k and still runs strong!) I would just rebuild it and turbo it just for the heck of it, but i am putting in consideration for an SR swap as well. Anything well help so that i know which direction to start.

Do the SR swap on the B13, GA models where lighter then SR one, so you should have a plenty fun beater there.

If you have GA16DE, and are thinking of swapping for a SR20DE, why not just go for the SR20VE? There's a large number of people who already had the SR20DE stock and swapped for the SR20VE - if you are swapping anyway, I'd spend a little more and do that.

I would say the sr20ve if u want the best bang for ur buck...

But I must agree, if you're doing a swap go with the VE.

If your keeping your 240 na then do an SR20 swap and turbo it, or SR20DET. If your boosting the 240, VE the b13. I wouldn't waste time boosting the GA, everything is too expensive for them and not worth it in the end.

thanks alot, i wouldnt mind getting a VE, its just a SR20DE is probably more likey to be in my budget, but ill give it some thought

Define "best".

Cheapest, most power potential, most available, best emissions, most parts available? There are alot of different ways to look at "best".

Another important question to answer is, how much do you want to spend in total?

Better in performance wether it be cylinder head desgin or minor engine modification, which SR20DE is the best from certain years and model cars like B13 se-r, 200sx se-r, g20

Im sorry guys, although the B13 SE-R is a fantastic car... im feeling the NX2000 was the best FWD SR powered car. One of the best handling, fun to drive cars of its time. Damn ugly styling(which i LOVE) prevented it from gaining any huge recognition. Had bigger brakes then the SE-R too.
