Right, Managed to replicate it this morning.

Tested the battery, fine. Started the first pop with no issues.

Alternator charging at 14.4v Which seemed normal. Turned my head for a split second looked again and it was down to 12.8.

Turned the car off, reading still at 12.8V. Tried to start the car, no body home. No dash lights, radio nothing. Kept on turning the key and left it on the on postion. Car started. Reading 13.8 and fell down to 13.2 and stayed there. Turn car off, tried to restart. No body home again.

So looks like alternator charge is a bit off. Does it look like i have other problems or you think swapping the alternator will be the fix.

I managed to get some video footage but not the first low 12.8 reading.

Are you using a B15 alt?
Is the red warning light coming on when the voltages are low like that?

This is completely different than your original problem. Guess I don't see how this is replicating it. First problem is a problem with the charging/electrical system, this one you stated here is a problem with the starting system. It could be a loose wire somewhere around your battery causing problems (like a ground that's loosened up over time), but that's probably the only thing I could see tying them together. I'd start by going over your grounds and making sure they are clean and tight. After that, if you've still got issues, then they're separate issues and should be dealt with as such.

That's the fusible link. They will sometimes go out slowly over time. You can replace it for a few bucks if you call the dealer. I'd recommend you do that because your fix is temporary.

Once the vet engine is done. The battery will be relocated to the trunk. Dealers here don't stock things like that so i would of had to get a used part or make something up.

The cable ties will hold it for now. The car very rarely gets driven till the new engine goes in.

Just want to make sure all the wiring is fine for it as i am using the stock DE harness with COP
