Thread: 01 g20t tiny wires to alternator... normal??

So I just picked up this car and noticed these wires to the alternator plug are stupid tiny, I reached down and barely touched one and it broke right off:nightmare: SO, Question here is are these normal size, what do they do(regulator or something), and does anyone have a pigtail plug for me?

The harness does look like it has been tampered with... What do you guys think?

Those look the wires that would go to the AC compressor. I have never seen alternator wires that are that small.

Thats what i was saying, those wires are wicked tiny. Ill cut apart the harness tomorrow to trace them a lil. Thanks for the response.

They don't look factory, looks like they were spliced in.

Yeah, im kicking myself for getting rid of all my spare harness pieces i had.. oh well. I will cut back the electrical tape to see what has been done.

I believe those wire are for the low voltage indicator/battery light on the dash if the alt stops charging... not 100% positive on that though.
