@KillerKrossover, I have a 2000 P11T (5 speed, LSD option) which the boot by the damper on the factory passenger side axle has started to separate. I purchased a brand new EMPI axle (which as you know, does NOT come with a carrier bracket) to replace it with.
Now, as mentioned, I also have several LSD passenger side axles which all have the carrier bracket mounted. Now, to lower the amount of time spending on swapping the axles (old torn boot axle to NEW EMPI axle), I wanted to have the passenger axle ready to bolt in COMPLETE, and in order to do this, you need an axle carrier bracket. Now, to achieve my goals, my plan was to swap over the axle carrier bracket from the B14 LSD axles I have, to the NEW EMPI axle I bought to aid in my swap time and have a complete bolt in solution, negating the idea of swapping over axle carrier brackets from the old Axle already in the car, to the new Axle which it is going to be replaced with.
Also please go back and read thread. I am well aware of the differences between axles.......and most importantly the difference between a 1999 P11(T included) and the 2000 and up P11(T included) which it is clear several people on here has no clue about. I spent 3 days sourcing the correct passenger side axle for my 2000 G20T when I had to get it inspected and that is when I discovered the differences as listed below:
1) The axles lengths on the passenger side axle between between the 1999 and the 2000 and up G20s are NOT SIMILAR
2) The hub spline count for where it mounts into the hub/upright on the passenger side axle between the 1999 and the 2000 and up G20s are NOT SIMILAR
3) The axle numbers most inventories have are INCORRECT and do not account for THIS ISSUE!
There must be an echo in here of some sort.................. (not trying to be offensive 5speed)
Reading owns all today it seems
