There has been a thread like this every year for the last couple of years. But after attending last years Convention and literally seeing 100's of people come together and that was mainly east coasters there is no doubt we are still here. Even people that didnt even any longer own an SR powered vehicle showed up. It really has become more about friends and the people than the cars.

People move on. Hell I still get these crazy ideas of what Id love to do in other/better platforms such as the Evo, 240, and several others but I love the SE-R chassis and hell my take is the less people that know or care about it the better. They are becoming hard to find in a clean unmolested or tastefully modded state. I keep seeing all these old F&F days riced out Sentras, 200sx's and so on on ebay, craigslist, and everywhere else. Once hot show cars, now just a disgrace to look and most have been thrashed and not taken care of. Fiberglass wide body kits falling off the car and cracked, faded ass atezza's, and you name it.

The communtiy will live on. It might get fewer and fewer but the ones in it to stay will always be here even if they dont even own an SR anymore. I stuck around the old forum for the couple years that I didnt even have an SR powered car, but they drew me right back in. Will I probably ever mod another platform for myself....Quite possibly and more than likely, but ill always be an SR guy and ill probably always own or never go too long without an SR powered car.

I really wish I could make this years Convention, I think its gonna be even bigger than last years. But like Joe said, work comes before the Convention. But I can tell you this, I will be at every Convention from here on out that I can possibly make it to.

I love this community. Sure. I could go buy a civic shell for a couple hundred and throw in a k swap and call it a day and have a fast lil car. But id rather spend 2 times as much to make my sentra that quick. Idk. Maybe its because i grew up in the b13 my mom had that she bought in 95. Anyway, this community is awesome. And i will make sure to make it to the convention this year. Btw i know they still make tsuru's...do you think they would ever start making a 2 door model?

There is nothing wrong with the community. We all have to adapt to these changing times where a job is more import than a car hobby that's not putting money on the table(for some people anyways). Just have a look the "members Rides" forum......owners have put their blood, sweat, tears & hard earned money into a car because they want to. They are also proud to show their ride. The community is what we make it.....Forward together

I wouldn't gauge the size of the following by how much traffic is on the forum. A lot of the OG guys have written and seen just about everything there is in regard to the SR20. The forum gets a little bit repetitive after 12 years. Doesn't mean they ain't show up for a convention, though.

^Truth. We still have guys who continue pushing the envelope. Though its few, a lot have been doing their best. Last years convention was awesome. I would rather have it the way it is versus "Honda Day." It is insane the shit they can do but at the end of the day those guys are not even nearly close to being tight knit like our community. Its sad when you gather up for a day/weekend event and worry about who is going to steal your car. They guys have to walk around with their ecu's, kill switches on, "boots" on their rims, etc. Be happy the way it is. The OG's paved the way while newer guys like us will continue making way. Its still a strong movement.

Plus, I think we "lost" the dickheads of the forum that have not really contributed shit.

Come to the next convention. It's awesome being able to put a face to the username and actually know who everyone is!

Last year in Ohio sealed the deal for me. We are a family and there is nothing more to it. The forum goes in spurts, I usually dont visit as much in the winter as i have other things to do and the car is put away and out of mind until spring. There are a lot of things happening right now that are moving forward and taking these motors to a new level. I dont mind a slower forum full of the "true" enthusiasts than a busy one with people who just come on here to talk shit or act stupid.

PS. I will NOT be at this years convention. Some things came up and it sucks.

Fenner doesn't post anymore?

It's winter so things are gonna be slower. When the weather gets warmer there should be more traffic. And the so called OG's still troll on here, but don't post for whatever reasons. Conventions done right also help get the ball rolling. Facebook also may have taken some of the post that would normally be on here.

It is getting slow around here, but that doesn't mean people are getting out or ditching their cars. I know I don't post as much(because people tend to be very argumentative about dumb shit) but I'm usually reading random tech post and what not. The SR game is well alive off of the internet.
