P10's are no better at only 100lbs less then the P11. Even the superior suspension doesn't save the P chassis in auto-x. This year I will be racing my B15, we'll see if it gives STI's and Evo's run for their money.

so much for thinking budget when you think b13...

and horsepoop on having to build a ve for boost you slap a turbo on the stock bottom end tune the shit out of it maybe throw in e85 or meth kit (can be had cheap) and your living in the fast life.

vvl and boost is not expensive.

vadim give me your same exact setup you had on your det turbo and manifold wise and i will get more out of it on a ve on the same boost levels

hell i will get a log manifold throw an ebay turbo on the bitch with the 1000cc injectors and will come damn near close to 400hp on a stock ve and show you how cheap it can be done

your mnissing the point. i can do the same thing with a de, stock manifold, and a gt3071r....hell, damn close with the cheap ass 18 g thats on my car. think the build cost under 1200 bucks. im sure others have made a go at it, and yes, you can use a log manifold, but your not doing a damn thing diffrent thatn what would be done with a de. that log is a hell of a restriction, and if i waste my time with a vvl, ID be working with a large turbo, equal length manifold, and a bottome end built for the abuse. at then end of the day, if people are asking questions like these they have no idea what theyre doing, and should probably keep it simple. ive had vvl cars. im not impressed. that being said, i dont know shit, my car is slow, i dont build these things on seriously tight budgets, and i never should be listened to anyways.

i agree with the last sentence completely haha

boosting a stock de is what i have been doing for a long ass time $85 de motors and boosting them to the max with no care in the world

all im saying is you do the same thing with a de and a ve the ve has more potential and the higher compression is really what sells it for me because the fuel and tuning we have now can make this work easily

VE-T is cheaper then doing a PROPER 2.1-2.4l VE, but imo the same price as doing a DE+T as you pretty much have to get all the same stuff and starting with a det doesn't hurt but to start making power the first things to go are the stock turbo and manifold, so back to square 1.

as far as which will be quicker in the 1/4 mile, a proper 2.0ve on stock internals with all the best bolt ones will probably give a 250hp~ VE-T or DE/DET a run for their money, if not even win. as for the bored out and or stroked ve's, they have a LOT of potential, and can make turbo guys with more power really look silly.

its all about what you want, how much you have to spend and what your over all goal for the car is. i have way more fun with my VE-T then i ever did while it was N/A, even when i had n1 cams and all that..

the thing about the ve is the better flowing head and higher compression, both help with power, however the cams aren't designed for turbo use so theres alot left on the table there, atleast for the smaller turbo guys.

Edit: I also dont like the det/de rocker setup.. seen tooo many pop off an fuck shit up..
