Someone punch me
Just did what was one of the longest and most painful things ever in any of my SR20s: the 5th gear popout fix in my '92 Sentra VE. Put it all back together, and it wouldn't start. Thought I messed something up. How could it be a coincidence?? After all those things removed and replaced? Then thought it was the battery. Jumped it. It started. Used battery charger. I drove it around the block, got into 5th gear, all was good. But accidentally stalled it in a parking lot when I was turning around, and it wouldn't start back up. Now keep in mind, after all the shit that was moved around and dismantled, I thought I forgot to hook something up. Push started it and popped the clutch in 1st gear, fired right up. Drove it for a couple minutes, shut it down, again no start. Fearing something was wrong, I took it to a local service station.

After all that, the $340 bucks spent on the 5th-gear repair kit from Courtesy Nissan, a new clutch disc and flywheel, spending almost 2 weeks on it.. in some cruel joke the starter went during that 2 week period. And I'm so sick of doing this, after replacing the alternator in July, I've had it with this electrical shit. So now it sits dead at a garage.

cry::offended::offended::

P.S. somewhere Kyle is laughing at me

Not laughing, but at least I did not curse you this time!

It is a shame that you have these problems. Persevere through the downs to go back up and it will get better.

Ha I know, you only cursed my B14.

I'll tell you what though, in the 5 minutes today that I drove the 92 VE around with the new underdrive pullies and new clutch, it felt awesome. But now I have to wait again

If you are going to work on cars, realize that nothing ever goes smooth. EVER... I tried to just do a simple cat gut and header install and 1 bolt snapped on my cat... Cut that bitch out then putting a new bolt in and the good bolt goes in 1/4th the way and snaps, on the other side.. 2 broken ones! Then installing the header apparently the positive was touched to a ground and blew the batt fuse which is a $20 fuse that you can only get from the dealer lol Starter is maybe a 45 minute job to replace, if you take your time so be happy

You check the ground/bolts on the starter? I've had the ground come loose to the point where it looks like its on but its not tight and that did enough to make it act dead. It happened to me on a B13 and B14 several years apart. Starters will go bad I try to keep a spare on hand.

You sure do throw in the towel and drive to the service station quickly. I only use service station for tire balancing and alignment.

Amen. It's rare when something goes according to plan. I usually end up bleeding at some point, as well. :nightmare:

So it was the starter? How about that starter relay?
