Thread: Timing Chain Guide Movement

The curved (tensioner side) timing chain guide on my sr20 wiggles from left to right when holding it on the top. It appears as though the bottom is secured as it should be as it doesn't move up and down at all. Should I be concerned with this? I'm having to get some work done on the head, so it has been removed, but I would rather not take the engine out of the car again, if I can help it.

No, it will move a bit side to side. Shouldnt be excessive but it isnt fully locked in, it sits on a pivot bolt. As long as there is no up and down play your good to go. But yes it will move side to side
