MSD Digital 6 got wet.... :(
Yep, mounted in the engine bay and it got wet after a wash...The car started fine and drove a few miles down the road, I was almost home it shut off in second gear pulling off from a stop light and wouldnt start back up. Come to find out i wasnt getting a spark, got her towed and whipped out the multimeter and no power to the 12+ power wire for the coil. However the msd does still turn on, popped the covers and there is some condensation inside. What are the chances of her comming back to life after letting it sit for a few days or putting a blow dryer on her?!

Letting everything air dry, I'd say it's a good chance in comes back, assuming that's all it was. Hell, I've sucked water up thru the cold air intake and let it dry and took my time and it was OK. I don't recommend doing it though.

Maybe pull all the spark plug wires out, and if you have time, the spark plugs (just make sure there's no water anywhere to further drip in the cylinders) and that would be even better

Thats the thing....MSD's are supposed to be potted with polyurathane to make them waterproof! Anything about counterfeit digital 6s?! I heard about the fake 6AL's.

I called MSD and from what they said only the first 2 runs were fully potted...only thing i can think of the potted units probably made it hard to service. The rep told me it will cost anywhere from 20 to 100 to repair and 7 day turn around time. So i guess i will take this time to shim my valves, and fix some small things in preparation for next season...

Here is a quick pic with the endplate removed showing its not potted. Looked nothing like that 6al above....Thats a nightmare! lol
