I'm pretty confident the way I'm installing and uninstalling is the proper way of doing things (FSM to the tee). If it wasn't, I'd have the same issue with the stock cam. There's something happening here that's out of the ordinary that I'm missing. Since the issue is isolated to only one cylinder, and the cam is not bent, my attention has turned to the #4 HLA not working properly. My theory is it's not getting enough oil pressure to release the check ball inside, thus not adjusting the rocker down to the proper height. Once I get another chance I'm going to blow some air through the oil port in the head and see what happens. I doubt it's the oil pump since the other 3 HLA's seem to be working fine.
