That has happened more often than you think. It's very easy to overlook. I did do it on purpose once. I poured a bunch of crap dyno oil, closed the drain plug, ran the engine for 5 minutes, then drained it again. Came out straight black (this was a long time ag0) then put my Mobil-1 synthetic back in.

And no oil catc pan or towels down,doh


did that on my friends car once, whoops! didnt notice till after the 3rd quart haha.

Oh this wasn't me.... but one time, my brother let his g/f's younger brother drive his hooked up 1990 Toyota MR2. The kid must have parked somwhere, and opened the hood.. but didn't latch it back correctly. He drove down the highway and the hood flew up and did like $2k damage to the car. Damn, I remember that day, it sucked.

Damn that sucks, how about the double gasket oil filter anyone? What a
f-ing mess I made in my bay funny thing was I was in a rush to get home and didnt even notice I usually check the old filter to make sure its there. I got home no problem it was when I was on my way to work it decided to let loose oil light came on pulled over opened the hood oil all over the place and late to work to boot.

i think i've done that before but i caught it before startup, when to toss the old filter and was like hey wheres the seal? lol
