Check for tension on the throttle cable then. In my 200sx, when idling, if I pull on it a certain amount from the engine bay, it will rev up.

Are you sure about that? The throttle plate is completely closed and is definitely not moving at all when the engine revs up.

I'm with Storm. Pull the intake tube off, and verify that the throttle plate is 100% closed, and just to be double sure, disconnect the throttle cable. It'll only take a minute.

And have you checked your TPS voltage?

I have already, I had someone stop by and verify that the throttle plate is 100% closed, and does not move at all when the engine revs up.

I have not checked the TPS voltage at this time.

Unplug the TPS and see what happens. I'm thinking that possible the throttle plate arm is on the wrong side of the tps wiper, and may be holding it open.

I tried that yesterday after checking the throttle itself, didn't make a difference either.

Maybe you have too much timing. But the evidence definitely points to an air leak. Try pinching the various hoses and vacuum lines, especially evap lines.

I just had someone make a very good point. If it is an air leak, it would also be leaning out. But since it's revving right up, it is also delivering extra fuel to allow that to happen. So presumably the ECU is also getting a signal from a sensor to deliver extra fuel.

Closed loop o2 feedback will add extra fuel. Could still be air leak. Also could be bad maf amongst many other things.
