Thread: Hunting suggestions

So my downstream o2 sensor is like under the rear seats almost and the harness doesn't reach. Before I go and just put in a bung further back, I grabbed some wire and spliced into the sensor but I'm not so confident about it lol. I gotta protect it some how and it's tough cuz I gotta go over or under the exhaust pipe, suggestions?

first get rid of those connectors. You will have problems with them. They are highly unreliable, prone to issues from weather, and do funky funky things with resistance.

As far as routing, where is the bung?

Basically right above my head, front pipe. What connectors do you suggest? I wrapped the wires in electrical tape for now and found a way to route it around the pipe so it isn't touching it

I see nothing wrong with how you have it routed now. Just wrap it, put it in wire loom, and secure it up. Just make sure you never go under the exhaust, always over, and never touching.

As far as connectors, either solder it, use butte connectors, or crimp caps. Anything that gets the wires to touch directly. Scotch locks like you have there are cheap crap.

Well the problem with out it is now is its REALLLY close to the ground (snag on something) but i found a way to go up over the exhaust pipe via over some hoses and stuff coming out of the under belly of the car then behind the side of the heat shield you see in the picture. Wrapped it all up tight in eletrical tape then gonna throw a wire loom around it.

I used the scotch locks becuz I wanted to avoid cutting off the connector on the end. Perhaps I can some how get the pins out tho to avoid that? Thanks.

Or just spread the insulation and solder on.
