Thread: Drive Cycle Question

Anyone know the standard drive cycle of a 96 200sx SE? I'm getting ready to have it inspected/emissions after putting a 98 SE engine in it. Had to splice and extend the wires for the downstream o2 sensor, which i just did today. I haven't had a CEL since the swap but I've only driven it prob 5 miles total so far. Was just curious if this drive cycle sounded right before I took it in for inspection. 55mph for 12 minutes and 0 to 35mph 4 times coming to a complete stop at 0 each time (no rolling). Sound right?

No certain speeds to hit or anything, cuz I drove on my back rode a few miles, but it'd curvey so I only prob hit 40 or 45 at most

Something to note, I had to drive the car about that many miles from were I did the swap and it never had the rear o2 sensor plugged in, but never a CEL. By that drive cycle directions, she was already ready? I figured not having a sensor there would set off a CEL once it was ready. Can this not be the case? Cuz if so then I might as well just keep it removed and even remove the Cat since there's nothing reading it's condition anyway? That's what I'm confused about. Or is it possible even tho there's no CEL I'll still fail? If that's the case, how can i test to figure out a way to know if it'll pass before I take it in...
