If I was you man I would change the final drive. It should not be that hard. I think it would be sweet on your car it being geared like a P11 tranny. I hear getting the P11 trannys is hard but if getting them is the only issue they can be gotten. Miko tends to have one around. But like I said just change the gearing if money is an issue. I may change my gearing when I get more power out of my VE.
I will say this. I beat a Porsche Boxter with slicks in the 1/8th mile at my last autocross. We both had slicks and both shifted well. 8.383 His time. 8.013 mine. So the B15 can gets down.
