I got my LSD B15 trans for $399 on EBAY. It was actually listed as a Non-LSD trans on EBAY. I went to the auto dismantlers website through the auction and actually found pictures of the car they were pulling the trans from and saw it had the sport package. Called them to confirm that was the actual car and exercised the buy it now option. Most junkyards don't know the difference between the LSD and the NON-LSD trans. You can either work this to your advantage or get hosed thinking you are getting a LSD and receive a non-LSD. My advice to the original poster is to get pictures or see it in person before you by it. I almost bought a P11 off of someone before I got my B15 trans and they swore up and down it was the stronger trans. I paid them and asked them to send me pictures before they shipped it. Sure enough I did not see the reverse idler gear on the front of the trans, it was a 1999 P11 trans which is no good. They did refund my money right away once I called them out on it. Be patient and keep looking, it took me 6 months to find mine.

Mine was listed as a non LSD too. I asked for a picture 4 seconds later I paypaled him the $$. I ran the vin, LSD trans and the car was crushed with 36k miles.

I am turbo.....GT28R @ 8-9 PSI. The trans is holding up great. My only gripe is the short first gear and the very short, 4.44, final drive as compared to the B13 4.11 final drive. I got taller tires, 205/55R15 (23.9" tall), and it really helped. the B15 trans was designed for a 195/60/R15 tire (24.2") tall. The B13 se-r stock size is 185/60/R14 (22.7") tall. That change in diameter & a 4.44 final drive coupled with the B15 very short first gear.......first gear is almost useless.

Rodrigo. A its Matthew from the keys. I have a B15 paired with the VE in my SE-L. I love it with slicks. Donshou has seen how fast it can accelrate when it holds grip. I have been in your car and I will say this. You want the P11. I may get a P11 one day myself but for now the quest is for more grip. With the right tires my setup will throw u in the seat.

Rodrigo/All...

I gave up on the find for a p11 for the same reasons and bought a b15 trans from a friend for the nx (It was a great deal), but here is my question to everyone. Has anyone put any thought into just taking the trans apart and replacing the final drive w/ a lower ratio? Is this not an option?

Recently I got the oppurtunity to take a trans apart with a friend and came to the realization that it wasn't very difficult to do... why wouldn't just switching the final gear out be sufficient? Why not even switching to a larger diameter tire combo when its time to get nasty with it work as well? I apologize if I'm missing something...

I know the b15 trans gets the brunt of things when it comes to is gearing but isn't gearing a small issue that can be fixed with a little elbow grease, a snap ring tool, a couple wrenches and maybe even taking an internal part to a shop?

Let's Discuss...

^With the P11, I think the turbo guys like the longer gears in 1st and 2nd, but you bring up a good point. It depends on what you are using it for I would say. N/A with a SR20DE or VE, it should be ok with B15 or P11 tranny. I would say slap it in and go. It should be able to take all that you could throw at it. I am looking for a P11 LSD tranny myself. BEEF is what's for dinner.
