What a huge pain to get the intake manifold off. I can't see anything mission critical as to why it has coolant running though it. anyone block off the water feed to the intake manifold?
Seems like in cold temps, the intake manifold needs the coolant running through it to keep the throttle body from freezing.Maybe I just dreamed this, but it's running loose in my head,so I said it.I'm sure there is a thread somewhere on this subject if you search.Or,again, loose thoughts in my head.
On the lowport motor it goes through the manifold out to the pipe that goes to the thermostat housing/radiator. If you block it off, you wouldnt have any coolant flowing through the engine...
