Q45 MAF, good for 700 HP?
I recently bought a Q45 throttle body and MAF.

The Q45 MAF isn't listed in the Information Library's "MAF Size, Part #s And WHP Output."

So while doing some research I found this thread from 2001 with the following quote from Andreas Miko. Am I reading the last line correctly? Is it possible the Q45 MAF is good for 700 HP?

A couple other posts ive found say they are good to about 600whp.

Here is another option for you. You can take the z32 maf and put it into a larger pipe than its originally fitted into. Use Turbotanks z32 maf housing but see if he can put it onto say a 3 1/2" pipe. This will increase the maf's read volume.

The larger pipe you put it into the higher the hp it can read to. Simple as that. Its 500whp calculation is based off the size of the z32 maf housing which i know is an ID under 3", so increasing it to 3 1/2" will allow you to pick up a wider range of hp capability.

example

If a 300zx maf is good for 500whp in a 3" housing, putting that same sensor into a 3 1/2" housing would allow it to read 35% more volume putting that sensors capability to read roughly 675whp. This is calculated off the area of the ID of the pipe.

I'll probably never go much above 300 HP but I was impressed by those HP numbers from a stock Nissan MAF. Gotta love Nissan engineering.

The Q45 MAF (P60) was priced right since I got it together with a Q45 throttle body I bought to install on the O2 Induction (Flowzilla) manifold, I recently picked up.

I'm really more concerned about any potential problems with the idle on a MAF designed for a V8 but an N62 MAF is a little pricey for me right now.

since 2001, DET users have pegged q45 maf's at about 450whp and z32's between 500-550whp.

using a resistor on the maf is as option

I've searched for using a resistor on a P60 Maf, haven't found anything yet.

Anything electrical seems almost like magic to me, how would I go about doing this?

Wow, I've just realized the ramifications of what you are saying! Thanks.

This means that I could have Turbotank make a 3 1/2" housing for the Maxima 76MM N60 MAF (325 HP) that would make it capable of roughly 440+ HP.

Instead of spending money on an N62 MAF, I could get a quality piece from Turbotank and use the N60 MAF instead.

Even if the N60 MAf goes bad later there are cheap, easy to find replacements sitting all over the junk yard, which I could just slap into my Turbotank housing.

Hope I've got this figured right. It would mean a plentiful supply of MAFs in a quality housing.
