which is the best gas? gas rate and company do you use?
so i was reading some articles online about the quality of gas : regular , plus , and superplus / premium . And they say that the premium gas is just as good as the plus gas or even the regular octane.

i always use chevrons premium gas because i heard its pretty much the best quality gas but I am left wondering if it has anymore benefits then other gas rating and gas stations. I may just start to get plus rated gas if I am convinced the premium is unnecessary .

VP or Sunoco racing fuels are the "best".

As far as everyday gas goes, it comes down to the additives they use. I've also heard that Chevron/Texaco have an advantage. I use BP, because of their location to my house.

Shell or Sunoco are the two I use the most. I like the Shell stuff. Just went into a Hess by my house to get a convenient refuel and I dislike it. harumph.

The show "Fifth Gear" on the Velocity network just did an episode about different gas and grades and even dynoed the same car with results. From what I remember all the gases dynoed about the same. Only Shell Ultimate had an increase in power. I think it was 6 more hp they made. This was filmed in the UK so results may vary from US gas.

Chevron and Shell FTW, both have outstanding fuels and never had any issues. I have seen what cheap crappy fuel can do to the intake valves and pistons in very short period of time 10k miles. Not good at all.

Chevron and Shell will clean up a dirty carboned up engine (valves and pistons) very quickly.

And where the hell is C16 hahaha. That will clean things up and 100 octane unleaded from the pump at Loves stations. Basicly like running brake cleaner through the engine. MMmmmm

Put it this way, if you want to clean your injectors, intake valves, and pistons of carbon, Run the tank to empty and put 3-4 gallons of 100 octane unleaded in and run it through. You will notice a difference. Much better money spent than on cleaners and crap you throw in with your fuel. (which are garbage btw and do more harm than good)

Once a year I'm in Lincoln,Nebraska for SCCA nationals. There is a Harley place there that has 91,98,and I think 101 octane right at the pump. Before I start my 800+ miles trip home,I put about a 1/4 tank of 101 in the tank.Clean as a whistle!
