need help with vacuums
whatsup everyone. this guy who had my car before me had the intake mani plumed to the bov, T'd to the boost gauge. i just took those off and put it to the pcv how its supposed to be, but now im having trouble finding an acceptable vacuum to use for the bov and gauge. i found this little canister looking thing with a vacuum to it, not too sure what it is, so i took a picture to ask if i could T the vacuum going to this thing and hook it up to my gauge and bov.

that would be your charcoal canister and it belongs in the trash in my opinion. you can t off of the fuel pressure regulator vac line

can i do that? i was thinking about that but i remember reading somewhere that i should keep that FPR vacuum by itself and not T it. would it be alright if i T the charcoal canister though instead ? rather f*ck with that then my fpr vacuums.

Ehh people say not to T off of the FPR vac source but my car has been running fine for like 3 or 4 yrs now like that. However, only my gauge is T'd off this source. This way if that source is pulling strange vac #'s I'll be able to see it.

If I remember correctly, my BOV is T'd off of the brake booster vacuum source. Only thing is theres a one way valve on it somewhere so you want to do the T before the valve. I'd go look for you but I'm nowhere near my car right now.

And my carbon canister was thrown in the trash the minute it cut my hand while I was pulling the trans out the first time.

from what im reading on the first thread, my canisters vacuums arent right? it says the bottom vacuum nip should be going to intake mani and mine is the top going to mani. should i switch them or is the way i have it now alright? i dont have the aiv or egr or anything on my engine from what i see, just the charcoal canister with that one vacuum going to the intake mani and the other thicker one im not sure where it goes i gotta check that out later when i get home
