Next Logical Step?
Well I'm trying to figure out what i should do next on this downstream O2 Sensor issue im having. First of all i'm getting a 1996 200sx SE (GA16DE) ready for winter to use so I can save my DET from a possible rust situation and garage her. The SE has a GA16DE from a 98 swapped into it but still has the 1996 ECU/Harness. Well I was putting the exhaust together and everything is good except for this situation im having. I got a Walker front pipe section from Advanced Auto Parts. Exact replacement, fits right. I got a new rear (downstream, after the CAT) o2 sensor from RockAuto. Went to put it in the pipe when i got it and even tho it plugged into the cars harness just fine, the thread was to small to screw it into the bung. Called RockAuto and they had me send it in for a return. I then went to Advanced Auto but theirs was the same deal (even tho it was a different maker), thread was to small. There was no sensors (even on RockAuto) that looked like it was the right size thread i needed with the proper harness plug. Stumped as well, the guys at Advanced ordered me a new front pipe (no charge) to make sure the right Bung was welded on it (i'm checking that out tomorrow, Sunday, when it comes in to verify but im thinking thats not the issue)....another funny thing is there was no plug in Advanced that fit in the bung to plug it until i could find a O2 sensor to work, so I need to find a solution fast.

I know it runs fine without the rear sensor, but I need it in order to pass damn emissions here in PA. I'm not sure what to do here if the bung turns out to be the right one thats supposed to be on there. The only thing I can think of is finding a Bung that will work with the O2 sensor I had and having a muffler shop knock off the old one and weld in a new one? Anyone else have any thoughts on what I can do before resorting to that? I just think this seems crazy that they are all to thin when both the O2 sensor and pipe say they are OEM replacements.

There is an adapter nissan and others use goes from big thread to small. No biggie. The big thread is standard and 98.5 and later use it. U can find that bushing in an old header or buy a new one. Muffler shop should have them too.

Any chance you can link me to a picture or even somewhere to get this adapter, just so i have something to take to the Nissan Dealership or Muffler shop to show

I'd be looking for something like this?
