WTF is this whine noise??
Just noticed this the other day and I can't really hear it too much at idle (just a little) but right at 50 it starts to get LOUD till 60 then after that it starts getting quiet..... It sounds like alternator whine from the speakers kind of sound to me but different rev's wont change the pitch its all speed related.... What do you guys think?

Annoying as hell, isn't it?I had that for a few years until I couldn't take it anymore.Ended up being the plate in the throttle body. It's not really speed related,it's just where the plate is not in the center and air whistles around the side of it.Mine happened all the time at about 2600-2800 rpm.I loosened the plate very slightly and moved it around a bit.I started it and rev it by hand every time I moved the plate a little, until I found a happy place where the noise went away.then,RETIGHTEN THE PLATE SCREWS!!! Can't say that loud enough. If you motor eats a screw from the throttle plate--------bye-bye It's an easy fix,and I felt like a dumbass for having not fixed it for years.

The noise isnt rpm related though... If im at a stop and rev it wonf be there and when i rev when going 60 it will stay the same pitch

My car once had a similar sound long time ago. It was the old rear pads. I put new ones and the sound went away. That was odd. Is the sound there when u brake?

I'd still check it out.I could take the cam on the side of the throttle body and sort of wiggle it side to side and occasionally get it to do it.Hugely frustrating.Generally wouldn't do it until you were driving it,which is an even bigger pain in the ass.May not be that, but it really sounds the same.
