Thread: my car was hit on saturday, what should I do now?

My B14 was valued at $1400 when I had my front end collision.

I bought it back, jumped through the stupid hoops to get it a dirty R- title and it was a waste of time and effort.

I should have found another car and gone on with it.....that is a shame that this happened to another SR20 car but it happens.

I would not do what I did in the state I live in. I think all states vary by the rules so see if it is worth the effort. Your hit is more damaging from the picture I think than mine was and I even had a new front bumper and front quarter panel already in possession which hardly negated my measly offering from the insurance company.

The axle is bent, ball joint and tie rods are shot, I think the rack n pinion is shot too, the "frame" under the fender is really bent, the shock is bent, upper radiator support is bent also, to me it's not worth it to get it back road worthy,

it would cost more than the car is worth even with getting the parts from the body shop I work at the paint and rust is really bad on the roof and door jams

That car is done. As sad as it may be.

Strip everything and anything you can out of there that is worth value and leave the insurance vultures with a bare bones car.

What a damn shame.

I would pull the motor and any other goodies,then let 'em have it.It sucks,I know,but find another and give it a good home.

1st thing you need to do is get the car in your possession. Don't let them total the car out. Have them give you as much as possible with out totaling it out. Then sell parts off your self or swap the.stuff into one of your B14s.

This sucks iv been trying hard as hell to find a 98 SE, they just don't exist. On another note they are most likely giving you book value for a GXE.

Damn. Is all i can say. Wifey was like "oh no!" Keep the car. Strip it. Sell everything. You will make more that way.
