the hell with you search nazi's..

I want a couple of part numbers.. here is what I'm doing..

SSAC header
2.5" exhaust
STi Muffler..

Going to use two magnaflow resonators to quiet it down further and replace my worn cat...

Can I get a part number for a magnaflow resonator that will fit in place of my cat (a catonator so to speak) and another part number that will work anywhere in between.. also, please tell me where I'd put it, between the catonator and the muffler or what? I'm tired of reading and searching, I jsut wanna do this..

All this time and money spent on finding a quiet performance setup?...hmm.

Stock exhaust with a remote controlled cutout seems like the best solution to me. I took off the loud ass VRS setup my car came with and went to a stock replacment Bosal from NAPA. Quiet as a church mouse....If I ever decide to cam the SE-L a cutout will be on the shortlist. Seems like a lot less grieve than frankenstein'ing a bunch of ill fitting parts on the car.... 2 cents.

It's deep and somewhat loud from the outside.

Yes mine is sagging because I didn't finish installing it all the way. My whole mid section sits too low.

Yes stock exhaust is the best way to keep it quiet. I wouldn't do it to a turbo car though. Stock muffler is too restrictive for a turbo setup. Thus I got a muffler from another stock turbo car, STI, and that works well. I have a cut out too, just don't know if I should install it.

After years of my exhaust. I want a new one. I want it quieter so it seems like stock is going to be the way....just like ol hammerin hank said.

Now, If one were to buy a stock muffler and slap it on a SSAC header and a cat, 2.5" and back to a stock muffler sound like?

I plan on getting cams so a 2.5" with a stock muffler?

^ Proper Header, right? It says 2.5" and also this one is sixty dollars cheaper....

And I have to ask what is the difference....

I ran an SSAC with stock exhaust. It sounded just fine. Those two headers look fine too. If you want to be extra safe, ask them on what size the secondary is.

Napa links are not working.

The NAPA links to two exhaust mufflers that are supposed to be for a 200sx 2.0L.

One claims it is a direct stock fit replacement, easy enough to deduce.

The second one says "Quietflow" on the muffler and is advertised in the name and description and is also 30 dollars cheaper. The inlet and outlet measure 1 and 1/2" inches on both side.

I have the one in the 2nd link. Not sure what the differences are. Probably nothing more than the manufacturer.

Just a few notes about the Bosal. It is restrictive at 6000rpm and above, you can actually feel it choke a little. So if you're not running a cutout, you're gonna short yourself on the top end. Also, you really should spray it with some heat paint, as it's your typical crush bent pipes...rusty crusty otherwise. I also added a simple stainless tip from Poop Boys to dress it up. It fits and looks OEM. The only real noise I hear, when I stand on it, is the AEM intake.

I am racking my brain pretty hard over this....

So far a SSAC header (or whatever eBay equivalent of a 2.5" SR20 header)

That will replace my weapon r header that is currently cracked above cylinder 3 after 5 years of service.

I can get a $90 hi flow magnaflow cat from vrsexhaust. (cat is a must for me, i just want it)

that takes care of the front half. the cat-back gets iffy for me.

either another vrs exhaust in stainless steel instead of aluminum (as I got previously) and in the same 2.5" size.

try this place, 95-98 200SX Mandrel Bent Exhaust

It seems to be cheaper than VRS and for the same, if not better, parts (i.e. resonator included and cheaper than VRS and the muffler is a oval body instead of a round body and even includes a silencer for $20).

I do not believe that I can throw stock parts back in there due to the fact that I will be purchasing cams this time to take advantage of the airflow of a full 2.5" system.

The overkill setup is ...

* Size : 2.5in.
* Resonator : 18in (+$75)
* Material : Stainless Steel (+$75)
* Muffler : Magnaflow 5x8 Oval Muffler w/Angle single wall tip (+$135)
* Silencer : Included (+$20)
For a total of $474.99

let's add one hundred for the header and another one hundred for the cat (ten bucks for shipping) and that is $675 exhaust system.

Price does not even include cams. I dont know if I can stomach that.

Buying it from VRS would probably be more money.

Totally lost.....

Hank, where would a cut-out be installed on a stock system?
