Thread: The Quest for the Non-Raspy Resonator

Well guys, I wanted to jump in here and add to this thread if I may .

I ordered the 5inch round Magnaflow, I want to thank all of you for doing research and making it very easy for me to browse my options. Robchaos hooked my up with his VERY good prices. Couldn't find anyone selling them cheaper, so plug for Rob. Go to him if you want it cheap and fast.

I was hoping to buzz it on at work and little did I realize the flanges area a pita to find.

Napa people are idiots and they kept ordering things that would not work:

"What type of vehicle..."
"It is an aftermarket part, it doesn't matter"
"just let me know the vehicle type please"
"there are no flanges under Sentra exhaust systems, is this an after market system?".....

Anyways, I just ordered some flanges off of a site I found. Look to be decent. I will work on updating with a video and pictures to go along with my old video of my current setup: ve, ssac 2.5, stock cat, vrs 3inch, WS2.

Lets hope this makes it sound better, and gets rid of the rasp....

Wait so Robchaos sells parts?

The flanges I bought cost me like $25 shipped, are massive, but man they are pretty good! Plus they were just about the only SS ones I could find.

I bought 2 - 3" two bolts exhaust flanges from VRS for pretty cheap... they were very easy to deal with.

FYI, there flange is not stainless.

Flanges aren't on the website. I just emailed them and asked to buy them, and keo is right I didn't buy them stainless... which is why they were cheaper. If they rust before the cars lifetime I will give you a dollar.

That sounds like a sweet exhaust set-up Dudeman. I'd like to see some pics &/or video as well. I like pics. LOL

What is the length of the resonator you bought? I can't wait to hear a sound clip. I hate to say it, but your car is the reason I have not gone 3" yet

The reason being is I have the exact setup as you, except I have 2.5" vrs piping. I have a VE, ssac 2.5 header, stock cat, 28"x4" magnaflow res, and the 80mm ws2. I love the sound of mine, so I will wait and see how much your resonator changes the sound of your system before I go 3"

Have you thought about this? I thing Serban has your fix!
