Thread: The Quest for the Non-Raspy Resonator

I hear ya. I'm kinda done with a loud exhaust at WOT. I think I might need to pick up one of those magnaflow resonators eventually. If I drive to the convention in October I will definitely need to quiet my exhaust some more.

Well I think you might need more then just the resonator, a quieter muffler.. hehe.

Lol. The muffler is a Magnaflow oval can. Not the quietest muffler out there, but I'm fine with it. The resonator, on the other hand, is a puny no-name louvered resonator.

I think the longest perforated Magnaflow resonator I can fit would quiet things down a bit, that paired with a fully sound-deadened trunk should make things tolerable for a drive from ABQ to Las Vegas.

When I drive by myself I just turn up my stereo until I dont notice the exhaust, but my ole lady doesnt like it that loud.

I know its never gonna be quiet but if I can lower the drown on the highway I'll be happy.

Ahh yeah, in that case this might work, I think the longest 4" resonator might work also. 6" fits in perfectly, but it does hit the walls when it moves around, so I will have to put something in there to absorb the shock.

That's pretty silent

My setup will be

- SSAC 2.5"
- Big Ass Magnaflow resonator (same as Vadim)
- 2.25" Inlet Magnaflow 5 x 8" Race Series
- 2.5 or 2.25" crush bent piping, does it matters .25" of difference?

I want to be silent but not that much as Vadim, I guess it's because his OEM Muffler

Yep, I just now need to secure it so it doesn't hit the chassis of the car (makes a bumpy sound on turns hehe)

Dude I would avoid crush bent, i would do 2.5" all the way out, this way if you ever go VE you'll be set
