Strike one for El Paso, TX.

I think I may be in the market for a stock appearing muffler, too.

The penal code in TX states that any modified exhaust is illegal. Just so happens that now the street cops in El Paso are starting to pull over anyone that has a large exhaust tip, and giving them tickets for modified exhaust.

Thanks to this thread, I may be okay. Time to do some reading.

Wow thats a crazy law!

I would be fine, until the officer looks under the car and sees the huge resonator!

^I wonder how it will sound with a 2.5" VRS piping kit, 2.5" SSAC header/flexpipe, and a Apexi WS2 with NO cat

thank ameen "tokes" for all the ideas as i stole them from his side exit how to.

that res in 36" long, if your not man enough to run the 6 inch you can always find a 5inch or even a 36inch long 4inch diameter would would.

^I just picked up a 12640 Magnaflow RESO, from Rob on the forum. The 14" Magnaflow RESO is not doing the job. It is to loud and raspy.

Current Setup

2" SSAC header/flexpipe
2.5" VRS piping kit
2.5" Magnaflow cat with guts
2.5" x 14' Magnaflow reso
Apexi WS2

^I thought this setup would be quite without having a gutted cat, I was wrong.

^I found it with the 12640, but from reading over this thread, I want be running a cat because I want have enough room. I just want better flow which the 2.5" gives, but without the rasp.

I searched all over the place for descent prices 2.5" flanges, but couldn't find any, so found these on eBay. Link

^Do you have the eBay sellers name? I want some flanges like that. They are SS right?

I think the complete length resonator with the flanges will be like 30 lbs

^Did you ever weigh this to comfirm the actual weight?

So, I guess on your Quest for the Non-Raspy Resonator, you ended up turbocharging your car??

The only raspy exhaust I ever heard on a turbo car was a straight 3" pipe from the turbo to the back of the car, it sounded damn ugly when the wastegate open.

Hahahahah well it actually was all set after the huge-a$$-resonator but turbo charging made it sound ever quieter! Now I want to run without a muffler

Haha, not good enough, Open J-Pipe! When I first started the car, open J-Pipe, I Fell in love with the sound it made. So much quieter then my NA 2.5" header and 2.37" exhaust.
