The Quest for the Non-Raspy Resonator
Alright as some of you may know my quest for the quiet muffler has been over for couple months now... but... The current eBay resonator that I have on there makes the car sound like a$$ at 3k-4k rpm.

I've been looking for a new resonator. Since I have a gutted CAT, I'm thinking about just getting a resonator that will be long enough to cover the CAT and eBay resonator.

Anyway, do you guys have any ideas on any good resonator brands that should make the car not sound like crap?

Current resonator

I'm thinking of maybe something like this

UPDATE - This quest is over, the car sounds nice again!

I went with the 2.5" ID 6" Can resonator like Tokes did in this thread.

Resonator that I got is Magnaflow Part #12640

i got a resonator like that one on my car(came with the pacesetter kit)......and since the illinois emmisions laws changed my nx is exempt to all future testings......and im gonna get rid of my cat and resonator, and put a glasspack in its place.....summitracing.com has a good selection of resonators and i may as well get one from there

I have heard good things about hushpower resonators. That's what I plan on putting on my NX.

magnaflow res FTMFL! the 6 inch diameter will fit in the tunnel for a certain length. find the "how to make a quiet side exit" thread and you will see the longest 6inch res you can fit.

the old is a 4inch diameter. the new is a 6inch diameter.

thank ameen "tokes" for all the ideas as i stole them from his side exit how to.

that res in 36" long, if your not man enough to run the 6 inch you can always find a 5inch or even a 36inch long 4inch diameter would would.

Isn't that quite a bit of a overkill for a mufflered car though?

I need to make sure I don't have it too long otherwise I will have fitment issues for the rest of the exhaust pipping...

Goddamn, does that not bang around at all? My magnaflow resonator has been just fine for my 2.5" n/a setup.

Now keep in mind I am on a fairly low budget here, spending way too much money on this exhaust to begin with.

The first one I showed, was a descent price, cheaper would be nicer though.
