Yep, could have told you it was the springs. I had to do the same thing several times long ago when I had my first se-r with a Spec clutch back when spec first came out and was shitty. Had to drive about 20 miles home. Every time I came to a stop light I would have to shut the car off, put it in first gear and then use the starter to get going, rev matched the gears was the easy part. It was the stops that killed it. Luckily my starter was strong.
Spec clutch disk popped a spring, i removed the broken spring and put the disk back in because i had to use the car for work, spec was sending me a new disk, 100 miles later popped 2 more, dropped it again, took them out and put it back in again, and then a couple 100 miles later it blew the last one out and i got my new disk in so i put the new one in and all was good. 3 clutch jobs in 2 weeks. lol. Good stuff.
Had it down to 1 1/2 start to finish on the last one.
