That's normal when going to an aftermarket wheel.

You have to install some studs that rotate in the groove in the clock spring. These hit the release for the switch. I usually use some screws, then cut the heads off to the right length.

hey, i am totally lost there, i know that i removed 2 bolts ( one on top and one at the bottom) just to take it apart, away form the steering colum ) then i just screw them back and now its not workinf as it should. i appreciate your help. this is actually my first DIY project .

If you look at the back of the hub adapter there should be two holes, one on top and the other on the bottom. The factory wheel has studs that rotate with the steering wheel inside a groove on the clock spring. If you look in the groove you will see 2 little nubs sticking out from the blinker switch, once the stud hits the nub it turns off the blinker. it would annoy the crap out of me to have to turn them off manually.

The aftermarket wheel should've come with 2 studs that fit in said holes. Also, if you've installed the hub-adapter the wrong way, the studs might even be out of place completely, only allowing for stopping one side of the indicators.
