I will use a dab of rtv on the threads.

okay one more quick question before I pull mine out of the engine in my car. To get the old one out I used the open end of a 19mm wrench.. This obviously wont fit down where I need to get to, to pull the one on the engine in my car.. will a 19mm socket fit over the plug and take it out or am I looking at some hard task here?

disregard that. I got the 19mm socket to work. But the sensor was already incredibly loose. Could that cause the problem if it wasn't making a good seal? also the one I pulled looks incredibly clean and nice unlike the one I am about to put in. Is It normal for it to be so shiny and nice looking when you pull one out of a running motor? The reason I ask is because the old one that I am about to put it looks like I would expect a sensor that has come in contact with coolant to look.

well its on to the next idea. swapped in the known good sensor and fans are still running and the car won't warm start without giving it some gas for a few seconds and letting off slowly. Im at a brick wall now. I don't know where to look next because like I said I am used to a Honda having a check engine light when something like this is happening

make sure the ecu harness is fully seated. The a/c system also makes the fans come on high. Do you have access to any one with nissan data scan? that will make trouble shooting way easier.

no access to any nissan data scanning tools ... and the ac has been removed but i made sure the ac wasnt turned on regardless. I find it so weird that I have no check engine light on. I know the bulb works because it comes on when i turn the key forward.

get your self a data scan adapter. It pays for it self. I have been using mine for 10 years.
