Thread: New to the sr20 game!

Just bought a 1997 Nissan 200sx SE-R and is having problems with the motor and etc. When i gas it, the pedal hesitates or lags and it pops/back fires out of the intake manifold. My car doesn't drive fine and she sputters when i ride her!

Sounds like the maf is just bad. Check your intake hose and make sure the clamps are on tight around the maf and the throttle body. Check for holes too.

Check everything dude. Harness grounds, MAF, any air leaks around the manifold? you can either try the cigar trick or just use carb cleaner. Motor running, spray anywhere where there is a crease or any hose to do with intake.
