yeah that sounds like a pick up issue. Next the light will stop firing at all.

Just get a cheap timing light from Autozone that has no buttons to press except the trigger.

AHH! Sears. The last time I bought anything from Sears was a torque wrench. It worked for one cam install, then broke. I thought Craftsman had a lifetime guarantee, so I took it back. Turns out torque wrenches aren't covered by that guarantee. I was pissed.
