dont pry on the damn pulley or against the front cover.. its just not a good idea.. ask me how i know! lol

you can BUY a pulley puller from harbor freight.. this is a bit different then the one i got, but for under 20 bucks you cant go wrong not destroying something.

I used a gear puller I have. Mine separated driving down the road and the outer ring fell off.

Be careful because in time, especially when approacing redline, the stock crank pulley WILL completely separete and come flying out under your car. It happened to me and freaked me out. the outer ring was caught somewhere in the undercarriage and I thought I blew the engine because of all the noise.

I ordered a G-spec crank pulley from Greg and have had no problems, I reccomend it.

This type of thing is going to become more and more common as our cars age. Strangely, it seems the crank pulley separeting problem tends to occur in the B14 more than the B13s, from what I've seen

make sure the timing light is set to zero advance. I have chased a timing issue only to find that the timing light was set to 10 deg and not zero.

It is a damper, it is not to moisten the crankshaft.

And if you are doing high revs why not buy that great piece for peace of mind.

my timing light has no such options...

So this means ive drove it with the timing advanced quite a bit...

did you check the timing light. I have also had one give me funny readings when the pick up was going bad.

B13 with the separated crank pulley. It was a perfect reason to buy the UR pulleys from Greg.
