Updated timing chain tensioner???
Where's the best place to get one? My car has jumped timing twice in the last year, and I'm sure my old school 220k mile tensioner isn't helping any. I saw that Gspec has them for $100, are there any other options?

Did you mess with the cams? How do you know the timing is off/what are the circumstances

The first time it happened the car had been acting the same, but was melting plugs at the track all of a sudden. I went through everything and found nothing. When I checked the timing with a light, it was high. I manually turned the timing back to stock, and everthing was fine. Recently the car started hesitating when I would use the nitrous. I checked the timing, and it was low. Turned it back to stock manually and everything was fine.

Funny thing is the first time when it was high, I had to turn the distributor almost all the way retarted to get it back to stock. Now this last time, I put it back toward the middle where it's supposed to be, to get it back to the same spot lol.

I know this isn't a normal thing to happen. I assume it has to do with the sudden shock the chain goes through when the nitrous first hits. I really can't explain how it's gone BOTH ways now.

I got mine from the local dealership because it was a sort of "instant need" - no time for mail order, unfortunately.

I was also fortunate enough to have access to a dealership account, so, I didn't get robbed. Necessarily.

Have you measured to see if the chain is stretched? Should be able to do it with a decent pair of calipers. Haven't heard about this in SR engines, but, KA engines? Seems to be prevalent... around here in 240s, at least...

Didn't know you were still alive man!!!! My chain itself isn't very old, so I doubt it's stretched.

By any chance, are you running a stock crank pulley? If so might wanna check that to make sure the rubber is not gone.
