New guy from UK - Autech Pulsar - n15 KNOCKING - HELP!
Hi guys, Im Nij, I currently own an Autech Pulsar. I was given this car from my older brother as he neither has time or interest any more. This was my brother project car but it didnt go as well as he planned.

The car started off like this...

However it had rust issues...

He decided he would reshell it so he bought this...

He swapped the engine and full interior loom over...

When he started the car it started to make this sound... (click below for vid)

The car was parked up for 2years before my brother bought it. He then drove it 250miles home with no issues what so ever. He even took it for a blast around local with no issues. He then did the conversion and the sound just suddenly appeared. He's been told that it could be either the lifters or he has spun a bearing. My brother lost total interested in the car and has let me keep it. I want this rare gem back on the road asap but have no idea about engines. Could anyone please give me some advise to what is could be? anyone had any similar problems?

Any advise would be much appreciated! Thanks

If you click the last picture it is actually a video, sounds like it's got a spun bearing leading to rod knock

You can replace the rod bearings with the engine still in the car or you can get a new engine to swap in the car.

Either way, that engine needs servicing.

definitly a rod knock, you can do bearing with the engine out of the car or in. i would prefer out if you have the means to do it.

but a whole new engine might be cheaper depending on how bad off that engine is. when you take into consideration the crank might be mad, bearings are obviously bad rods might be effected ect.

could just be as simple as bearings but could be worse.

I can't watch the video, but if its ran a bearing an engine swap is much MUCH easier and sometimes cheaper than a rebuild (depends on how much of a rebuild you do)
