GUYS, how about take this guys needs / wants into consideration.. he's on a fairly small turbo and he DAILYS the car, he's not looking for something that will hold a shit ton of power, just something that will hold what he as and maybe a little more without breaking on him..

lets not forget how bad UNSPRUNG clutches are on OUR transmissions..

the JWT / GSPEC stage 4 clutch will work perfect for him. the FX stuff seems to be overkill for what his goals are.

i'd rather blow a clutch then blow a transmission thats for sure.. i believe you should only run as much clutch as you need to, atleast with our cars.

You made some good points man. I'd def rather destroy a clutch than a trans that's for sure.

You are making several unfounded assumptions here.

Although the springs are there to smooth engagement, the biggest issue with our B13/B14 gearboxes is gearstack spread, torque and hooking (or shock on the driveline from street tires). Also, since most people around here prefer the straight line stuff, they are much more harsh on a transmission because of HOW they shift. Those issues mentioned right there will destroy a driveline in short order way before an aggressive clutch will ESPECIALLY once you learn how to smooth the engagement with some finesse, a sprung hub becomes a non issue.

I picked up my car equipped with a FX500 and big boost and have been dailying a stock clutch 2001 G20. I picked up the engagement point within 2 minutes of driving it (haven't driven it in 3 months) and I could "slip" the clutch to the point of it feeling as smooth as the G20.

I stand behind my FX500 for recommendation for my reasons mentioned above

A clutch job is a pain, and I would MUCH prefer to learn how to drive the damn thing, than destroy it and have to constantly swap/upgrade clutches

My advice, learn how to drive the damn thing and stop whining. Too many ladies around here .

AGAIN, the FX500 has a stock pedal "feel" (which to me, is all relative), does not chatter, has give or take the same engagement point of the stock clutch (which, FYI, just adjust clutch to desired level) and WILL hold anything 90% of the people here will throw at it, all for less than $300!!

Good luck on your other choices. I have been through several clutches (I actually have a ACT HD pressure plate with B15 disk I just swapped out for a FX500 and the FX500 blows it out of the water, even though the ACT was holding up to the power quiet well)

P.S I also have a Fidanza 9lb attached to the FX500 which, for all intents and purposes, actually REDUCES driveability..........Just saying though

im not saying thats a bad clutch, but not my first choice. but then again i dont have a p11 trans.

you have had soo many issues since you've got into these cars man i was just tryin to steer you in a trouble free zone (if one even exists lol) but i think the fx500 will be ok, just take it easy an break it in an all that like your suppose to.

i messed up 1 clutch so far and it was due to a missing dowel pin, since then i've been on the same jwt pp / b15 disc that i bought from someone on here (jen36) as used for a reasonable price, i've never spent my money so well.

shit man you and me both know all the troubles Ive had with these cars, and im trying to buy another one off this forum to daily so i wont daily the nx if all checks out with it, I wont make the mistakes ive made before. Ill actually take the time and look the car over before jumping on it. with that being said
I will break it in for the 500 miles then it probably wont see boost until about 700 miles, and since i may not be dailying the car anymore the fx500 would be great in my opinion for the money and I think the p11 trans will be ok with it.

yep... the fx500 sounds like the best setup.

i just purchased a stg5 competition clutch for my 240sx. i couldnt convince myself to avoid a sprung disc. traffic scares the shit outta me.

well i live in a very small town (bluefield/princeton, wv)
our high way (460) only has about 4-7 cars at a redlight stop so stalling out for a couple days wont be to bad here. PLUS they can kiss my ass for all i care lol got to learn how to drive it some how and some where. in town its even less cars at a red light stop maybe like 2-3 lol.
5pm traffic is different from the 2-4/6-10 traffic times.

I do agree this sounds like the best set-up for me to go with.
even tho i wanted a full street disk i just destroyed a 6 puck rated at 280hp in about a total of less than 1000 miles after the break in. didnt know the car had that much power or i would have tooken it easier on the clutch but shit happens.

also thanks for all the input from you guys, you all were a great help to me.
i know some people on this forum wont help me out cause im a noob at this and thats ok they are just assholes in my opinion that think they know everything and dont want to share their knowledge, which i think is a DICK ASS move.
I've pmed about 4 of the top guys on here and what do you know they ignored me, when all i did was say great comments about their car. so for you alll reading this that i pmmed thanks for the help. this thread didnt have to be made if you all would have helped in the first place. but now i know who to ask and who not to.

END of the RANT lol
