I feel like the shifter was the cause after all. I need to find another classic to look underneath. My shifter feels loose underneath. Idk, its hard to explain lol. Glad its alright after all. I just wanna get home and feel some VVL.

Mine did it for a couple weeks and forcefully jamming into 1st and 2nd quickly back and forth as much as i could eventually made it back to feeling normal.

Weird I know.

Anyways see the problem just fixed itself. Stupid b13 trannies.

^Dang, this does sound weird. My car is having problems with 1st and 2nd as well. It's been parked two months because of it. I haven't had any desire to wrench on it, so I just left it alone. I just picked up trans saving bracket that should be in a couple of days in hopes of getting my car back on the road before football season really jumps off.

^Did the gears ever start sticking again?

No, once it went back to normal, it was fine and never had an issue after that. When the incident happened i thought i broke/bent the selector fork or something because it was that hard to get it into 1st and 2nd gear. but i managed to finally get it in using a lot of force and just worked the shifter quickly back and forth from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 1st as much as i could. After a couple weeks of driving normally and some hard shifts, not no-lift shifts, it started feeling better and better to the point it eventually just felt like nothing was wrong anymore. Went back to smooth as butter.

It was the weirdest thing. I was almost certain when it happened that i broke something. When i got it to go into gear it was like there was this resistance/tension/grindy feeling all the way into 1st and 2nd and in between those gears.

Cant really explain it. Probably damaged the syncros but got them to re-wear themselves back to normal. That would be my best explanation for the whole thing. This was back in 2003 when that happened.

Yeah I was like fawkkkkk. Was positive that I popped a spring in the disc. Once it went into 3rd-5th and reverse I was like oh fuckkk, lol. I believe it came down to the shifter. Everything is like brand new inside the trans. Had a couple of guys I know that build trannies say just throw it back in. Hopefully it will be good. Doing a few more street pulls and hopefully take it to the track.

Have you upgraded the shifter bushings and stabilizer mount? If the reference bar moves it might not be able to find the gear.

I thought I put the ES bushing up front on the stabilizer bar but I was wrong. The bushing was torn to all hell so I put the ES in. I have a Custom Steel stabilizer bracket in the rear so I know thats not moving lol

How did the cluth pedal feel? Could you press the pedal to the floor when this was going on? When I try to press the clutch pedal to the floor, it's like it don't want to go flush to the floor. I have a new clutch cable, got a new OEM TOB, new B15 disc, fresh gear oil, and new OEM TOB clips, so I don't think the TOB alignment is off. It's weird, but I guess I'll have to pull the trans either way.

Worse case senerio, I have a spare B13 trans with only about 90k on it. Might just through it in and sell the case on the current one. Not sure how much life the gears have left, if any on 1st and 2nd.

Clutch was fine. Trust me i had popped springs out of disks and so on prior to that when i was dealing with the very first spec clutches that came out. There was nothing wrong with the cable or clutch. 3rd 4th, 5th, and reverse went in normally like butter. Just 1st and 2nd had issues again that cleared up by themselves just driving it and working the shifter from 1st to 2nd as much as I could.
