Another Overheating question
Running the NX on the Highway it goes from the halfway mark to 3/4 hot. Changed the cap and checked the fluid level on sunday. Ran it sunday evening and it ran at the halfway mark just fine. Went across town tonight and the car just shut off on me when I stopped at a light, drove on the HWY and it pegged back to 3/4 way mark. I get to where I'm going leave it running and it drops back to half way again. The fans are working as the AC is on the whole time. Went to go home and it jumped back to 3/4 mark so I turn the heater on and it droped back to halfway. Turned the heater off half way home and ran the rest of the way fine at 1/2. I have no idea whats going on with this thing. My next move is to change the thermostat as it was last changed back in september. Also the idle is jumping from normal to 1k with the AC on. With it off it idles normal. This car is starting to annoy me

When was the lest time it had a flush.... And are you sure your fans arent just working with your ac compressor? Did you wire them in or are they factory plugged? Id start with a thermostat and a flush of yoir radiator. Let us know where that gets you.

Flush was in june month when I installed the Mishimoto, was working fine for the last 2 months. the fans are kicking on normally and with the AC. Stock fans

Is your mixture 50 50? I would assume it is. Are you running the ac more then normal? Do you have a way to take the temp of the coolant besides the stock guage?

Ya using a prestone 50/50 mix and I just have a stock guage now. AC is on all time as its 110 here in vegas. Been working fine all summer up until this last week.

Very odd... Could just be an incorrect reading but its a stretch. My ac makes my b14 run funny too its 110 here in dallas as well. Let us know if it persists.

have you replaced the sensors?
checked the connection of the plugs to the sensors?
I had the 1 wire sensor (for the cluster) be loose before and it caused unusual readings.
id also rebleed the system.

What's your ambient temp out there.. My b13 would overheat on the freeway with ac on and temp outside was 110 degrees.. At 70mph.. It would overheat anything over 100 degrees.. So i flushed the system put new t-stat and new water pump n hoses, and
No luck.

Next I bought that Godspeed 2" dual core full aluminum racing radiator and solved my overheating problems.. Appearantly that stock 5/8" core radiator didn't have enough cooling capacity for my hot ass AZ Weather. weather over here is 110+ and my engine stays Cool as fugg..

I have a mishimoto i just put in 2 months ago and everything has been fine. I'm about to change the thermostat and see what happens. It's been running fine back and forth to work. I'm gonna autocross it on saturday and see what happens. I think I have a major electrical problem. will let you know on sunday
