That doesn't seem right. 30-40 is what you get cruising at 4k (or I do anyway)

I just thought about what Vadim said about the neutral switch. Would a faulty neutral switch cause bucking while coasting in gear?

no but i've seen a bad passenger motor mount cause some similar issues.. or possibly leaking injectors.. got a wideband?

It assumes your in neutral all of the time. I broke my switch and my launch control stopped working because ECU thought I never left neutral.

By the way I would notice maybe 5 more mpg's when I would fill up after half a tank, this is on all my cars.

one way of knowing your neutral isn't working right is when u clutch in while rolling an your rpms ride high till you come to a complete stop, they sometimes will bounce around too.

I think I have this problem right now. Exactly how you described it. About 2 years ago I had a trouble code for neutral switch too. Haven't seen the code for about 2 years now, but I have that high idle thing going on. It could be something else I don't know for sure. Maybe I should just change the switch out since I already have a new Nissan neutral switch just sitting here.

So if you let the tank get to below half you get better gas mileage?

Fill up the tank all the way and once it gets to 1/2 (about 150 miles) put gas and you will get better mpg's
