So slightly lower performance on my way back to MS.
437.4 miles/11.845 gallons= 36.93 mpg
I changed to Mobil 1 10W-40 from 30 weight. I think I was keeping the speed closer to the upper 70s so that probably also caused a reduction. Ah well still not bad for driving at higher speeds. I wonder now if I had some help from the wind on the first trip and also if the road surface on I-20 is a newer higher mpg compound.
The grapevine will kill fuel efficiency, rapid elevation change not to mention basically straight uphill the entire way.
Just did exactly 30mpg mixed city and freeway. Long trips pulls close to 40 if I keep it in close loop. I also found I make better mpg when the car is heavy on long trips. I tend to fill up at the 380 mile mark. My fuel gauge is not accurate at all especially at the low end.
Personally I think I get crap mileage. I can barely pull 250 miles around town. Car runs great, idles at 650-750 real smooth....not burning any oil or fuel...I think I am capable of so much more highway but that remains to be seen...
On the highway fully loaded with A/C running occasionally, I got 354 miles on a tankful recently on my bone stock '92 SE-R. Felt a little nervous past 330 though...

The last few tanks I have been getting 250ish/20mpg on E85. This is mostly city driving and I spend alot of the time at WOT.

And...I'd like to thank you for posting up actual amounts. That is how you post actual mpg's.
