I never heard that ATF fluid was better than P/S fluid. Crazy

Just to update you guys.

Put in a used pump and bled the system.

Power steering started working perfectly for a couple of days (its never worked this good before). Turned the wheel to the lock on the left side and it dropped a bunch of fluid, and power steering to the right stopped working. In fact, it was power to the left, no power to the right, so it was very hard to steer the car straight. If I let go of the wheel, the wheel will turn all the way to the left lock in about 3 seconds. I put fluid back in it and its a lot better now. Obviously ill still need to find the problem. I'll get it back up on the lift at work tomorrow to see if i cant find where the fluid is coming from.

If i have to buy a new steering rack I'm gonna punch this car in the face.

In our cars that's what's required per FSM. Dextron II ATF. Strange but true.
